Privacy Policy

AGC Ikenegbu ("we", "us") operates this church website from 11 Archdeacon, Dennis Street, Ikenegbu, Owerri, Imo State. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors of this public website.

Who we are

We are a local Assemblies of God congregation. For privacy questions, email info@agikenebgu.org or use our contact form.

Information we collect

We may collect information you choose to give us, including your name, email address, phone number, and message when you contact us, subscribe to our newsletter, submit a testimony, register for an event, join as a member, or make a donation. We also collect limited technical data such as browser type, pages visited, and approximate location derived from IP address when you use the site.

How we use information

We use this information to respond to enquiries, send requested updates, administer ministry programmes, process giving, improve the website, keep the site secure, and (only with your consent) measure traffic and show advertising. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. Essential cookies are required for the site to work. Optional analytics, performance, and advertising cookies run only after you choose them in our cookie banner.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.

Learn how Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Children

This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 for advertising. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

Sharing

We share information with service providers who help us run the website (hosting, email delivery, payment processors, and Google for analytics or advertising when you consent). Those providers may process data on our behalf. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the church, our members, or the public.

Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, legal obligations, or legitimate ministry records, then delete or anonymise it. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, but no website can be guaranteed completely secure.

Newsletter location

When you subscribe to our newsletter we automatically estimate your country, state/region, and city from your IP address. You do not need to type a location. This is an estimate based on where your internet provider registers the address, and it may not match where you physically are (for example, a subscriber in Imo State may appear as Rivers State if that is how the ISP maps the address). We label these records as IP estimates in our church admin tools.

Google Analytics

When you consent to analytics cookies, we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to measure page views and selected events such as newsletter sign-ups, article views, site search, and contact form submissions. We configure GA4 not to receive email addresses from our forms. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time via Cookie settings in the footer.

Your rights

You can update cookie preferences at any time via Cookie settings in the website footer. You may unsubscribe from newsletters using the link in those emails or by contacting us. You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, subject to any legal or pastoral record-keeping duties.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the revised policy. See also our Terms of Use.
